Excited about the block of the month! Safety First. This next tip can fall under the category of accuracy and safety. And, of course, always cut away from your body.
The smallest lines in between inch markers on a ruler represent 1/16 of an inch. Gör så här. If you place your hand flat on the ruler, you may inadvertently push the ruler forward. When you are cutting a long strip, you may want to stop briefly and move your hand up the ruler so you can keep the pressure even through the entire cutting of the strip. Thanks for the great tips and looking forward to joining you for the Block of the Week! Even pressure from your hand holding the ruler keeps it from shifting. I will share tips each week and a little quilt block history too! No need to buy anything to add to the bottom of the ruler. Had a Fiskard rotary cutter fall apart on me so I went and bought another one but found that when I cut a long strip my hand hit the button that closed the blade and since it kept on happening I gave up and bought an Olfa cutter instead and gave the other one away.
My favorite brand of ruler is Creative Grid. I surely.
